Seasonal Commentary

We work very quickly at Hello, with more of a game jam kind of vibe. New team members who join us from other studios often comment how fast new features come together. Fishing was one of those features! We saw a fan posting about how cool fishing would be, and just weeks later our fishing update was releasing! We designed the Aquarius expedition around it and we love that it's a very chill way for people to spend time together on a planet. Seeing screenshots of lots of players fishing side-by-side makes us so happy. For Halloween, we put together a spooky expedition called The Cursed, which started with the idea of limiting interstellar travel to the portal network, and grew to introduce elements like spectral squids and a sped-up day/night cycle. In November 2024, our global user rating progressed from "Mostly Positive" to "Very Positive". We got some "Very Positive" socks made for the team, which you only wear when you are really feeling it.
