Seasonal Commentary

Exo Mech was another artist-led update. One of our artists just really wanted to make a mech! The aesthetic appealed to the rest of the team, and it seemed like a good fit for a new style of exocraft. It all came together really quickly. In the middle of development on Exo Mech, the UK government started releasing information and warnings about the outbreak of a new coronavirus. At the start of March, a few volunteers from the team "trialled" working from home. Within a fortnight the entire team was fully remote. It was a weird transition for a small team who were used to working very closely together in the same space, but we made it work. Somehow we stayed just as productive as before, and a very busy year of updates followed. We kept socially connected with regular evening games of Among Us, and a weekly film club that kept going for 70 weeks.
